Spoken English படிப்பமா?

விசேஷ துணை வினைச் சொற்கள் - Modern Auxiliary Verbs:

விசேஷ துணை வினைச் சொற்கள் வாக்கியங்களில் பிரதான வினைச்சொல் போல் ஒருபொழுதும் தனித்து இயங்காது.
விசேஷ துணை வினைச் சொற்கள் எப்பொழுதும் வாக்கியத்தில் பிரதான வினைச் சொலிற்கு முன்னால் அமையும்.

நிகழ் காலத்தில் can, will, shall, ought to, must,  may என்பன பாவிக்கப் பெறுகின்றன.
இறந்தகாலத்தில் would, should, could, might என்பன பாவிக்கப் பெறுகின்றன.
எதிகாலத்தில் நடைபெறப்போவதை  எதிர்வு கூறும் போது Will and Shall பாவிக்கப் பெறுகின்றன.

பரிந்து கேட்கும்போது, அல்லது பரிந்துரைக்குப் போது அல்லது ஏதாவது வழங்கப்பெறும் போது Can, Could, May, Shall பாவிக்கப் பெறுகின்றன.
அனுமதி வழங்கும் போது அல்லது மறுக்கும் போது Can, Could, May, Might பாவிக்கப் பெறுகின்றன.
முடியும் அல்லது முடியாது என்பதனை வெளிப்படுத்தும் போது Can, Could, Able to பாவிக்கப் பெறுகின்றன

Can:

Ability to do - இயலும் என கூறு போது	I can speak English
Permission to do - அனுமதி கேட்கும் போது	Can I go to the temple?
Request – பரிந்து கேட்கும் போது	Can you wait a moment, please?
Offer – தருவதாக கூறும் போது	I can lend you my bicycle till tomorrow
Suggestion – அபிப்பிராயம் தெரிவிக்கும் போது	Can we visit Grandma at the weekend?
Possibility – இருக்கலாம் என்பதை கூறும் போது	It can get very hot in Sri Lanaka

Could:

Ability to do- இயலும் என கூறு போது	I could speak English
Permission to do -அனுமதி கேட்கும் போது	I could go to the temple
Polite question – தாழ்மையாக கேட்கும் போது	Could I go to the temple please?
Polite request – பணிவாக பரிந்து கேட்கும் போது	Could you wait a moment, please?
Polite offer - பணிவாக தருவதாக கூறும் போது	I could lend you my bicycle till tomorrow.
Polite suggestion- பணிவாக அபிப்பிராயம் தெரிவிக்கும் போது	Could we visit Grandma at the weekend?
Possibility - நடைபெறலாம் என்பதை கூறும் போது	It could get very hot in India.

May:

Possibility - நடைபெறலாம் என்பதை கூறும் போது	It may rain today
Permission to do - அனுமதி கேட்கும் போது	May I go to the temple?
Polite suggestion - பணிவாக அபிப்பிராயம் தெரிவிக்கும் போது	May I help you?

Might:

Possibility (less possible than may) நடைபெறலாம் என்பதை கூறும் போது (குறைவானது)	It might rain today
Hesitant offer உதவிசெவதாக கூறும் போது)	Might I help you?

Must:

Force, Necessity – பலவந்தமாக கூறும் போது	I must go to the town today.
Possibility - இருக்கலாம் என்பதை கூறும் போது	You must be tired.
Advice, Recommendation – பரிந்துரைக்கும் போது	You must see the new film with Ratha

Must not/May not:

Prohibition தடை விதிக்கும் போது

You mustn't work on dad's computer. You may not work on dad's computer.

Need not:

Not necessary – தேவையில்லை எனக் கூற

I needn't go to the town, we're going to the restaurant tonight

Ought to:

Advice – அறிவுரை கூறும் போது	You ought to drive carefully in bad weather
Obligation – உபகாரமாக கேட்கும் போது	You ought to switch off the computer when you leave the room

Shall:

instead of “will” in the 1st person தன்னிலையில் “will” க்கு பதிலாக பாவிக்க
Suggestion - அபிப்பிராயம் தெரிவிக்கும் போது	Shall I carry your hand bag?

Should:

Advice - அறிவுரை கூறும் போது	You should drive carefully in bad weather
Obligation - உபகாரமாக கேட்கும் போது	You should switch off the computer when you leave the room

Will:

wish, request, demand, order –கேட்கும் போது (less polite than would) பணிவு குறைவு	Will you please off the light?
prediction, assumption – எதிர்வு கூறும் போது	I think it will rain on Monday
Promise – உறுதியாக கூறூம் போது	I will stop drinking
spontaneous decision – உதவி செய்ய முற்படும் போது	Can somebody drive me to the station? - I will
Habits – பழக்க வழக்கங்களை குறிப்பிடும் போது	She's strange, she'll sit for hours without talking

Would:

wish, request (more polite than will) பணிவாக கேட்கும் போது	Would you off the light, please?
habits in the past கடந்தகால பழக்கங்களை கூறும் போது	Sometimes he would bring me some vegetables
